How Marianna + Lauren Start Their Mornings

We firmly believe that how you start your day can deeply impact how the rest of your day goes, and that making time for yourself in the morning is crucial to your day's productivity. While not every morning routine is the same, there are a few things that each of us do to make sure that we wake up with a mission. Morning routines can make your day feel positive right off the bat, no matter how busy or stressed out you are. 

Here are a few things that each of us do each morning to get our day started, from our go-to morning skincare products to our favorite easy breakfasts and workouts. 

Before Anything Else: Things we can't start our days without doing. 

Lauren: Every morning I make sure to:

Drink hot lemon water
Smoothie date with Evan
Morning coffee
Create my to-do list for the day

Marianna: I use a tracker to make sure I have a routine before I jump into my busy day and that includes: 

Drink water
Make my bed
Get dressed
Check in with work to plan out the rest of my day

Go-to Morning Breakfast: You can't start your day without a little brain food. 

Lauren: Smoothies are my go-to! They are healthy, easy, and it’s an easy way to sneak in more veggies for Evan. My favorites includes:
1 cup Protein Powder
A Handful Spinach
1 tablespoon Cashew Butter
Spoonful of Chia Seeds
¼ banana 

When I’m feeling something extra sweet, I love making banana pancakes:
3 eggs
1 Banana
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1 ½ cups Rolled Oats
2 tablespoons Peanut Butter
1 ½ teaspoons Baking Powder

Marianna: I love to make a smoothie in the morning! It’s an easy way to include the Fab Four; protein, fat, fiber and greens. My favorite combo is:
Water or Almond Milk
Vanilla or Chocolate Tone It Up Protein
Chia Seeds
¼ Avocado
Cacao Nibs or Powdered Peanut Butter

What I Listen To in the Morning: Slowly wake your mind up before jumping into work. 

Marianna: I'm currently listening to audiobooks! I just finished Little Fires Everywhere as part of my virtual book club and am picking out what to read next.

Lauren: I usually listen to The Coffee House for a soothing start.

Get Moving: Getting your body moving first thing in the morning can help wake you up and get your blood pumping.

Lauren: I've been sharing daily workouts on IG, no equipment needed, while at home! I do a combination of cardio, squats, lunges, and planks. I also love Tone It Up, Sweat App, and Megan Roup Sculpt Society. 

Marianna: Almost every day I work out with the help of a few apps. Sweat, The Sculpt Society, Melissa Wood Health, Pilates by Amanda, Tone It Up.  I set up a workout corner in my house and it makes all the difference.
